Burpspeed Version 2: Race Car Build

  182cup & 172 racecar
A few steps closer today, the Clio is all cleaned inside and out, tidied some of the wiring in the engine bay, new fire ex pull switch.
Dinger Dave and Adam are coming over on Thursday, to help me get it wrapped, so maybe Thruxton, maybe not.
Under wraps for now.

  A special one.
Is that a ph2 under that cover?
What happened to the ph1 or am I missing something Mr hunter? ?

An eventful long Thursday.
Mr Dinger Dave and Adam Gittings came over to "The Barn" yesterday, and very kindly did/helped wrap Mr Big Burp.
The object was to get him looking something like a race car again, and not a beat up old Phs1.
Mr Bell is my hero atm, he plodded on with no regard to time, until he was done.

All I have left to do, is a little bit on the front bumper.

So thanks Dave, I'm well impressed, and for the helping hand of Adam, this shows the spirit of the Clubs, Tricolore Trophy and CS, long may it continue.
Dave thinking he had an air bubble, (it was his hand).

The hard side, where James attacked me at Oulton!

The "easier" side, not too many dents in this one, Adam taking it all in.

99% complete. Roof scoop and boot/bonnet catches back on (thanks Ad), plus, yes plus, it's sporting a new bumper.
The old one has seen the back of too many cars, and looking a little tired, do for a spare.
At this stage, Dave was feeling it a little, plus had a long drive home South, whilst Adam had one North.
So thanks again chaps, don't scratch me as I come through.

Next, up on the ramp at the weekend, see what it's like downstairs.:spanner:🔨:nut:

Another day in workshop today, got the spanners out, whipped the suspension off for a check, freed up the calipers and sliders, spanner checked all underneath, sump guard back on etc etc.

Another step closer.

Well Donington booked for Fri eve, just to get a little seat time.
Need to get the feel of old burp again.
Noise will be a problem, but I'll just have to take it steady I suppise.

Little edit to the timings tony!

Just giving it a run Russ.
Then I'll decide which one is going to Thruxton on the 13th.
If I was pot hunting, it'd be the pug, class winner every time out.
But I do fancy a high speed battle up front tbh.

yeah yeah. You love it really.
Watch that 98 drive-by, we had to back off on the start finish line because of the induction noise; then we got a good telling off for sandbagging! Ours is only 90 static! (silent assassin remember?)

BTW 3rd overall in CSCC Tintops this weekend (would have been second but I had a "moment")

Nice one Ian, seen the results.

As I said in Tric Triphy Facebook.
Fkn awesome mate!
I could certainly feel the roll centre kit, esp not driving it for over a year, it was like a go kart.
Took a few laps to get used to the gripper, esp under braking.
Managed Craners flat in 4th in the end, so happy with that, and so much quicker than the pug.
So basically, it went well. :)

To be honest, Big Burp beat me up last night lol, I ache all over, plus I have a small lump on my spine, I reckon it's the Hans device slightly changing my position in the seat.

Must get some foam, forgotten how violent it was/is.
