Broken down monaco blue 172 M5 North Exeter

Pulled over to see if he hadn't ran out of petrol or something silly, I went over and asked if he was ok and what was up with the car, he told me he was driving along at 70 ish then all of a sudden it started juddering, revving and high and after about 5 seconds it felt like it lost power followed shortly by a loud thud noise to which at this point he had pulled over and turned it off. Obviously my first question I asked after this was.. When were the belts changed? to which he replied.. this morning. :banghead:
I had a good look at the belt and all looked in place (Didn't have that much of a look as it was on the hard shoulder of the M5!)
Seems like to me the belts haven't been done properly as I know its a very specialist thing.

Told him to join up on here before he looks at another 1*2 so he knows what to look out for.

Didn't catch his name.

The car looked earlier like it defiantly had been "used" . And then I clicked on your profile and saw the same car on a track haha

It had a hard life with me

The cambelt wasn't due until next year but the dephaser rattled it's tits off so that's probably why he got it done.

I had to sit down when he told it only had 60k miles on it, bonnet was full of stone chips. I didn't ask how much he paid for it, but if he told £2450 I don't think I'd have believed him.
