brake duct

not really a brake duct but related:

today i took off the fog lights and inner arch liners. on the driver side there's a black plastic 'canister' of some sort. what is it, what is it for and is it removable/relocatable?

Carbon cannister you can make a bracket to mount it a bit higher i think.

Not 100% sure it's important tho something to do with reducing emissions and increasing fuel economy.

ah ok. not too important on a track car, but i'll leave it for now. but will move it upwards a bit then.
