bottom of rear shock ,bolt rung?

I was putting back in my rear shocks yesterday, and the bolt wouldnt go in wihtout a lot of force, but i got it in , and it is tight, whaty could this be? I am worried that the thread inside the hole is rung, but I put the bolt back in straight :S

does sound like a thread issue (assuming it was a loose fit through the damper?). you shouldn't ever 'force' tight bolts when doing them up

sounds like uv cross threaded the bolt.

it might be as well to leave it be now it's back in but you could take it out again to check the threads. if the bolt's softer than the arm, you may have gotten away with it and just need a new bolt (run a dye through the arm)
