As you're one of only a few active members who've done the conversion, if you get 10 minutes, would you mind making a list of the parts you required?

I've searched on here high and low and there's minimal information on the swap, and I think this is the route I want to go in the future. F4RT Internals in a F4R running JC5 box. If you were to do it again, is there anything you would have done differently?

Yes no problem mate, a quick list:

225 head (requires machine work for the pulley)
The block will need drilling and tapping for a return feed for the turbo

Oil feed kit
Uprated clutch
Intercooler and pipework
ECU
Custom downpipe

They are the main parts I can think of, however everyone does it different.

Currently I’m changing my setup to a 6speed as The Jc5 Box isn’t up to the job in my opinion as I’ve changed it 4 times now.

Cheers

Unfortunately on the way home, she started smoking, and running very rough,
Got home, and then compression tested it, and compression was down on cylinder 4... great!

I knew it would happen sooner or later, I did build it around 8 years now. Anyway I seriously lost Interest in it and just left it in the garage. Not touched it since.

Then an engine and gearbox popped up for sale so made the deal and went to collect it.

Started doing some research on the work required to get the ND0 box to fit into the shell and converting the clutch from cable to hydraulic. Also customs shafts are needed which I’ve already started messaging members about for more information.

Strip down should start this weekend maybe.

More soon.

Strip down has started, first I removed the dash and started tidying the loom, lots of plugs and wires trimmed down.

Then onto the engine, all boost pipes removed, loom removed, all fluids drained and engine pulled.

Now to take everything I need off the old engine, and then drop the new engine and box in ready for mock up!

More soon.

UPDATE:

Progress is slow, Megane engine and gearbox is hanging in the bay now, cant seem to get the engine sitting correct though, used some spacers under the gearbox mount which has helped but still not good enough for me, also making a rear dogbone mount is being a pain too, just doesn't seem to be right no matter what I try at the moment, plus some driveshaft's I bought which have been welded don't fit, around 10mm too long. Everything is fighting me this time around.

I've been buying some parts for it as well to try and get some motivation back but doesn't seem to help.

At the moment I've just left it sitting in the garage covered up, I'm very tempted to pull the Megane engine out and just rebuild my old engine and send the JC5 gearbox off for a rebuild, and throw it back into the car and actually get to drive it.

I really can't decide...

UPDATE:

Progress is stupidly slow still, I never seem to get time with work and family time taking priority.

Anyway megane lump and box have been in the bay for a while, I’ve sourced all the parts I need. However I still can’t get the engine and box to sit correct. So instead of wasting time I’ve decided to go back to what I know and rebuild my old engine and stick with the JC5 box

Also I was going to buy proline internal brake pipe kit, but after seeing reviews it’s not worth it.

I can’t imagine it would be hard to make your own brake lines?

More soon.
