Question,
My brothers mate (who I know) said he put a 'couple of hundred' into Ripple, reckoned the other day it's now worth £5.5k. Is he chatting s**t ?
He's also saying it's un-trackable (something like that) but he put his details in to sign up

If he bought in December yep, it went up around 1000% iirc in December.

Before I invest in ze German, is there an App I can download or does it need to be done through a webpage?
If so, what app? and is it easy to get started?

What happens when all these people who've made tons of money want to pull their money out of crypto?

There's a few apps. See a few posts above.
You'll just have to keep trying to register as a lot aren't letting newbies sign up.

You also for ease need to buy some BTC to transfer to their wallets to buy the other coins.

Is it easier if I just trust some random stranger off the internet and transfer him £500 and see what he makes in the next 6 months?

Moneygram have announced their partnership with Ripple today, which has started to recover the price. Apparently there are two more major money transfer organisations on board as well - no announcement as of yet though.

I was twitching over the last couple of days that it had peaked and the XRP bubble had burst...now I wish I’d bought more!

Yeah trial is a better word for it I guess. Hopefully it’ll bring the price up enough to make a tidy profit, that’s all I’m interested in
Yeh. It really depends on how all the sheep view it.
Hopefully everyone will read it tonight and jump on it and then I can sell tomorrow morning.

At what point would you sell though.

I would have gone for longer than that as it needs a few more banks in first before it makes its money.

I think if it can hit $5 over the next few months I'll be happy.

What I really want is FUN to sort itself out!

Yeh FUN is pissing me off at the moment. Just static. Needs more exposure.

If it jumps up a lot tonight (doesn't look likely) then I would probably sell but as it's a gamble, no one knows. It could quite easily double in value in the next few days but again it just depends on how many people join the band wagon. If people just read the headlines and not the full story, it could quite easily happen.

Xrp has a market cap of $74.55 billion at the moment so it’s going to go to over 3.7 trillion this year? lol when the highest bitcoin has been is 326B.
Why do you believe that to be impossible?

It's impossible for a made up coin, with no asset value behind it to be worth more than the original made up coin that also has no value behind it?

It'll go wherever the market takes it, you can't be rational with crypto currency. It's entirely made up (aside from the way it's produced, but in terms of its monetary value). If everyone catches onto this coin it'll sky rocket, it's market cap means f**k all.

I know someone who has made 200k on it and is continuing to hodl

My mate at work was touching £3m last weekend. This week he's lost over£500k with all the selling everywhere. Absolutely bat s**t mental. All from a £25k bank loan too!!!!

Why doesn’t he try and get out then?! I’d say 2.5mil is enough?

I noticed something on coinbase mentioning about needing to check on your tax for "earnings" through coinbase.

Surely this is just the same as gambling and therefore not taxable due to being able to reclaim losses etc.

IIRC it's not seen as gambling winning and would instead fall under capital gains, i.e. you have bought an asset at a certain value and then sold it at a different value. No different to trading in stocks / shares in respect of the tax treatment.

It's not locked in yet haha. could all go to zero next week for all we know.

He's holding out for a couple more million then he's going to move to Asia.

He put £25k into Ethereum this time last year, and only in the last month or so did he sell out the majority of it, to invest £250,000 into FUNFAIR when it was 2cents. That's now 13cents, so that's what has also made a massive proportion of his pot for him.

Say he wants to sell ? Can he get someone to give him actual real monies that he can put into his bank ?
(I know nothing about this stuff)

Tax authorities of various countries are looking to crack down hard on crypto money, mainly because some people are making a killing and then paying bob-all tax.

Right now it seems easier to trade one coin for another, than go straight to currency.
but he could probably trade everything back to Bitcoin then cash that in?
