Best TV for 1k

clart is right altho its a better 1080i than most 1080i supporting screen as it does actually have a 1920x1080 panel

its the resolution - 1080p is better than 720p and 1080i. theres conflicting reports on what that TV actually is.

I'd go for the Sony KDL-40W2000 or the Sharp 42XD1E, or if u can afford it, the 46XD1E

the resolution is 1080 but it only decodes 1080i inputs as skyhd is 1080i they may not be a huge need for full 1080p support

760 / 1080 don't think you can tell the difference.

AV forum did tests on this & found majority thought 760 looked best:S

Full 1080 is years away.

dont plasmas need recharging after 4 or 5 years at the expense of some serious coinage??

No fella they dont. They cannot be recharged anyway. That isnt possible.

Most plasmas have a life Expectancy of 60,000 hours now. So thats about 20 years at 8 hours a day

What do you mean Full 1080 is miles away

Full 1080 is 1080P isnt it? In which case several TV's support this as does the Blu-Ray players and films right out the box. Or am I missing something

no your not missing anything 1080p is here now if you want it :)

have you seen that tv cheaper anywhere else ??

i need a replacement for my one thats going back

Right...

So what tv for 1-1.5k?

Need a few to chose from, preferable not PLASMA.

Go and ask the butler to go get you a copy of what hi fi Tarquin, or whatever magazine does Tv reviews, find one with 5 stars and off you go. Or off your butler pops in the bentley in your case.

  Engles Mummy
Both butlers are away on Holiday & the servants can barely speak English. Hard life…

TV mags cool, thank you for your contribution.

I doubt you are that bothered about 1080p material at the moment. So going for a 1080p panel IMO for you is a waste of time. Seeing as most the stuff you will probs use wont be 1080p

I would reccomend the TV below. Stunning Piccy quality through every source. IMO one of the best images you can buy at the moment for semi sensible coin

i can see why SD is so much better on plasmas

the pixels must be the size of fingerprints
