Battery light and stop light

My battery light and stop light came on the other day. I checked the voltage at the battery and it was 11.4V. I decicded it needed a new one so went out to buy one today.
Fitted it and the voltage is now at 12.28V running. The problem is the battery and stop light have not cleared?

I have tried a rstuner reset to no prevail?

Its starts fine now as before it struggled.

How do i reset the lights? does it need putting on clip?

if it was u/s surely the battery would drain really quickly? depending on the load?

anyone know rough running voltage if the alternator ok. then i can compare.

13.8-14.4v should be at the battery with the engine running

you could probably drive for nearly an hour with no alt and a full battery

just done some more testing.
- with the engine on and the battery d/c from the alternator i get 1.4v from the alternator.
- 12.28v with the engine running all connected.
- alternator case to earth less 500mV. so no problems there.

your right about the voltage with the engine running between 13 and 14v. checked on another clio.

so it looks like a new alternator is on the cards!

My STOP & Battery light came on today, won't feck off! :dead:

Car was fine yesterday, jumped in today when I got home from work and got this annoyance!
