AVERAGE POWER GAIN

HI EVERY1. Just wondered what roughly is the average bhp and tourqe output of the 172,s after a decat and system with a good panel filter? do they usually make more than the 172 they came from the factory with. considering they have had a good few years use.

There's your problem, 172's never came ouf of the factory with 172ps/bhp.

Most in reality will struggle to make 160bhp, standard.

On it's own, a panel filter will do next to nothing. Couple it with a decent exhaust, matched inlets and remap and you should be pushing 170-175bhp..

Tbh mate, I would sell up and buy a Fiat 500 Abarth. Heard they are amazing!

I put my 172 on a local dyno other day and it produced 165.8 bhp at 6700 rpm but the tourqe was 123! How is this? coz i thought they were 172bhp iwernt to happy,lol.

they re 172ps, which is 169bhp. They NEVER make book power figures.

You would be looking at around 160bhp ish with your mods.

Dont get hung up on figures, how it drives is much more important.

It really irritates me they never make book figures. Bens right about what he said about how they drive though.

Go for a remap after the filter and exhaust.
I've got a ph1 with panelfilter, k-tec stealth and remap.
Before the map it`s got 147bhp atw and 157 after!

Clios get quicker with age/mileage, so if anything yours will be a bit quicker than it was when it left the factory.

I agree, i wouldnt be chasing figures (Ive tried).

Just get brakes, suspension, a decent steering wheel, and drive it!
