Think realistically only the Cup ones are easy enough to do your self. Get a garage to do it!

Normal price prices have increased over time and now its an expensive bit realy

Most probably wants a cambelt as well if its a 172. Even the last ones on an 04 plate will be nearly 5yrs old now.

Had a cambelt done wen I brought it in nov 06 at 18k it's only got 50k now so has plenty left on the cam

Its 5yrs/36k as DrRollo says and belts full stop shouldn't be retensioned.

I changed the cam and aux belt on my 172 in may as well . Oh well all done and gone now.
