Aux belt Bottom pulley/tensioner

  172
Hi All....

A few days ago I started to hear a metal on metal noise on my car.

Upon inspection it appears to be the pully right at the bottom of the Aux belt.

Those familiar with the accesories belt tensioning guide - its Pully F.

I have put the car up for sale due to this problem,- no link as this is not a for sale thread.

The pully has destroyed its self and scored the belt.

I have stopped driving it for fear of it breaking fully and ruining the cambelt and thus the engine and the car effectivly being scrap.

QUESTION
Can I simply buy another pully and bolt it on or does it require a bit more than that?

If so I may consider fixing it and keeping it.

Thanks

PS its a Ph 1 172

Fred- I know you looked at the car before- can it be done simply on my drive without any special tools and without having to do any timing.

I can remove the bumper etc and I am a pretty competant mechanic just dont do cam belts on 16v's... too lazy to learn and be bothered due to timing em up.

I really cant be ass'd with it all as I've just bought a house and am busy with that - if its a simple enough and cheap enough job I dont mind hanging on to the car and doing it when I have time.

Let me know how much and if you can take card.... cash will be fine but I'd prefer card at the mo.

If she doesn't sell I'll have the bits, fix it, mot it and sell it.

  Lots of Alfas
The belt kit is £125 and its 2 hours labour, its nothing worth selling the car over. Its not part of the cambelt so theres no timing/tensioning procedure.

Appreciate what you're saying but I simply dont have the time at the moment as I am working full time and renovating a house full time.... you see the problem lol.

Luckily my new house has a double garage with nothing sitting in it at the mo so worst comes to the worst and the clio will sit there for a bit.

Ciao
