All the F4R engines are interchangeable in the Mk2 clios. However don't expect any performance benefit from putting a 182 engine in a 172, and so on. The upper inlet manifold has to be kept with the car if you're putting a Ph1 engine in a Ph2 and vice versa IIRC, because of the cable/electric throttle bodies.

Cool. R cup engines the same as ph1 or ph2 also? What years does the mk2 cover? So have options as engine gubbed lol. Thanks!

Are the mk2 bodies interchangeable too as well as gearbox clutch etc? I am learning lots! Thanks again

Not for you, engine clutch etc is interchangeable, you just need your upper inlet as stated. Gearbox you can only use a ph1, or 172 cup which has slightly shorter gearing. This is because your dials require a speedo input from the gearbox.
Thanks for that dan. You said 'not for you', that to do with body panels? Does a mk2 ph1 only fit the mk2 ph1's?
