Anyone online with an Iphone that can help me?

Gone through all the set up and needed to leave it for O2 to activate, but It came up with Signal needed to activate so I ejected it from Itunes to move around with it but still got no reception, have I fucked it up? or should it sort itself out??

Currently restoring the ipod!

with my gf's it gave her a temp number on the iphone for a few days while it switch her current mobile number over to it, it didnt have signal until the next day and then around 2-3 days later the phone number was switched to the iphone and the sim in her old phone became inactive
