A response from a couple of my questions
Rear Brake Discs - common MOT Advisory on Clio's as they're so light all the braking is done by the front discs - they've got a set of Brembo pads on so do the job without any fuss from the rear.

Oil leak - very minor, not a concern for a car of this age of car and is minor, just be sensible and check the levels regularly and top up if needed.

Exhaust - it's not a major leak but from what I can see there is a bit of soot in the mid section so needs a bit of TLC, its a part Milltek (from centre back I believe) and part original so probably time for a refresh of the original part.

Tyres - yes all four replaced with Toyo Proxes at a cost of almost £400. I don't skimp on tyres - any car you see with cheap tyres should ring alarm bells and would suggest the rest of the car has been maintained on the cheap too!

Has he sent pictures of the passanger side. It may be my eyes but it looks quite a bit darker.

I appreciate its an old car etc.

From what I can work out the belts were done a couple of years ago going on his info and the mot history, it does look tidy and from the info available only needs a few small jobs doing, I think it was a well loved car at some point.

No idea, I did ask, I have no idea how to price it as prices appear to be all over the place now I’m looking for one, it’s eBay so buying a car without looking at it is always a gamble.

Go and see it before the auction ends ?
Deffo find out about the belts etc for sure.
I don't think it's going to be as good as you're expecting, it seems a bit rough.

I don't skimp on tyres, buys proxes[emoji1787][emoji1787]. It looks tidy enough to me, when we're the belts last done?
This.

I'm also interested and looking for a 182, but you dont buy proxes if you know about cars ;)

The tyres wouldn't put me off if the car was decent, some fool will buy them and pay for a pair of PS3's. It's a late reg 182 with cup pack(s?), low owners and average mileage. I can't see it having any issues out of the ordinary. That red paint on the inlets needs to go though! If its too far to view then ask for good quality pics to be emailed to you of bodywork, Jack points, interior and filler cap area.
It has a cliosport.net sticker in the rear so it's been on here at some point but doesn't seem to be modified much so may not have any detailed history on the forum.

He is going to send me more pictures in the morning, jacking points are a good shout, went to look at an inferno orange a while back and that had crushed jacking points, ripped trendlines and no proof of belts and the dealer wanted £3500 for it😳

I bought it so I can fill you in on all the stuff that goes wrong now ?!? :)

Seems decent enough to me - has an electrical issue with the wipers which needs exploring and the exhaust has a minor hole somewhere as it blows a bit but mostly only when its hot. So far so good though. As to paintwork I think that was the light as in person it is mint. Its clearly been looked after.

Looks not bad to me! What's the wiper issue you're experiencing?

It comes on slowly when you use the drivers window...so by the time the drivers window is all the way down the wiper has slowly crept up to nearly vertical.

Equally when you blip the Immobiliser the wipers move maybe 3 inches (front and back)

Doesnt bother me too much but the alarm went off the other night and I know the alternator is new...

On another note is it normal that it sort of doesnt start a few times before it starts. It clicks maybe 2 or 3 times then starts absolutely fine. Is it something to do with the Immobiliser

Interesting....it always starts no issue at all but just if it's been locked a while it clicks a few times first...but if I've been driving around it starts straightaway?

I had this on the race car, was a bad earth. Mine was under the dash top but could be any so its a matter of methodical hunting.

Ah ok interesting that's good to know...I'm not actually that bothered about it as long as it's not going to cause other issues

Ah thanks for this.

Any recommendations for renault specialists not a million miles from south london?

Need some other general bits doing anywho

Start with obvious earths - from what I remember.
(I would removed bolt and cable, clean metal on body and on cable terminal, grease and refit nice and tight)

2x under rear lights (inside car behind the plastic trim panel.
Check battery terminal and earth strap.
Remove dash top (fairly easy diy job), check 3 earth points, 1 on left by metal bracket that holds lower dash on , 1 in middle behind clock, 1 on right behind dials.
Below are Unlikely to cause your issues, but worth a check;
Earth strap to gearbox, (viewed from pass wheel arch)
Earth terminal at end of engine loom, its hard to see but it terminates on gearbox over the passenger driveshaft inner boot.

Id also consider removing the boot trim and checking the cables and connectors running to the wiper.

  Lots of Scrap...
As above, earth's can be issue but normally odd electronic behaviour tends to be uch. Easy enough fix, just need full standard set of ECU, uch, keys and locks of a known working breaker

Someone else in another thread actually suggested changing the battery could sort it all so wondering whether that's a first move?

I have an issue where my wipers move very slowly and the passenger window clunks when it hits the top, any idea if I could have related issues to the owner of the car above? Mine starts every time though no hesitation.

Nice hope you enjoy it, looked nice to me, I bought a bg 55 plate with both cup packs, bit up on the miles at 138 but has had the belts done this year along with all the brakes and some of the cheapest s**t tyres I have ever seen😳 but it drives straight and has a miltek cat back new injectors plugs and coil packs, a few car park dents and the usual dented bonnet but it’s not that noticeable so it seems ok so far, just needs some better exhaust mounts as it hangs wonky. Time will tell if I’ve bought a shitter😜
