Any one help me spend 2k

Im stuck.....

Im just about to sel my Mitis FTO due to insurance (been fun whilst it lasted tho!), and after paying off major bills i will be left with about £2000.

.......to spend on the clio!!!! (1.8 16v K reg)

But i dont know what to get! Ive got ideas like:

- spend the whole lot on major engine rebuild, cams, manifold...as much as i can get for 2K, make the car fooooking fast!

- Spend half on a standard rebuild, and get what i can for 1K for the engine, then spend the rest on interiour. Cos im gonna be down grading in compfort (not coolness!) im gonna want a nice ride - seats, steering wheel, interiour retrim???

- Spend the whole lot on and Alien body kit from K-Tec!!! cost about £1,300 to buy and hopfully not more than £700 to spray and fit....now that would look cool!!!!

- Spend nothing on the car and just put it towards a flat?????

- Spend it on aload of usless crap?????......remote control cars!!!!!

Any help??????

Andy.

Andy, would be one of these 2 choices for me, has anyone got any pics of the Alien kit already fitted/sprayed up?

The power plant sounds very tempting also, a sleeper would be cool.

If i recall correctly the Alien kit is a widearch jobbie so it would be waaaaaaaay more than £700 to get it properly fitted and sprayed!! :(

Get a willy lump in ya valver and tune it! Worth every penny!! :D

  williams 2 turbo

put a gt turbo lump in it. youll beat most things youll try to race, and people will think its a 1.8. youll get nothing close to the performance of a 5 lump spending your cash on the 1.8 engine.

Hi Andy its Oli. Its a shame your selling ur FTO it was mint and it sounded like a Ferrari to me!

That Alien kit looks mental but I think making it a street sleeper would be more fun:)

Id put a GTT lump in it but I think you would need more than £2000 though.

sensible - save for a flat!

Not so sensible - spend on the car and have a lot of fun with it, only engine though, not too keen on bodykits for valvers, they look good as they are, so just spend on engine, either 2.0ltr megane engine or 5 turbo engine, and get the outside cleaned up, all rust etc sorted, if you have any, also try and up-grade brakes, susp, tyres etc, so it will last a while without u spending anymore on it!

Silly option - blow it on rubbish!

My own opinions,

Danny,

Id prob try and save some to, u never know when something might go wrong on your valver!

that kit looks sh*te imo. the way I see it is that Renault spent time and money developing a kit that made the car look nice as standard, who are we to better millions of £s worth of development costs.... although you would be the envy in Mac Ds car park. personally id get Willy interior and spend the rest on making the car mint again, touch ups, new clutch, rebuild and whatever is left over save for when something goes wrong as you need some money put asside for these cars as they have a habit of hitting you where it hurts.

Change of plan , I think a sleeper would be more fun! I car can look amazing, but still not be any fun to drive!

Go for the sleeper mate, and go for one of the engine conversions that was mentioned by few others, GTT or Williams.;) (Just wondering on the cost to do this properly? Theres someone here that specialises in GTT conversions?Or am I making that bit up?)

Id just be looking at the biggest fun factor, and a kit would be good for looks and not much more. Also, the right wheels/tyres for that kit would be over a grand as well!
