Amp wiring question

Ok guys and girls, im just wiring my amp in and just wondered two things.

Its on my 172 ph1

1. Where did you find the best place for your earth lead, i normally put them on the boot floor but my friend said its not a good earth on the clios there for some reason.

2. Is there a hole in the firewall to put the power cable through from engine bay to the inside of the car, or is a case of drill your own hole.

look for the hole in the bulkhead where the cable for the bonnet release goes through. Any of the bolts in the boot are good for earthing.
