Amp wattage advice please

Hello all,

i have a 250w RMS sub and need an appropriate amp to run it.

The 2 options I have in a deal are ones that are 220w x1 @ 4ohms and the other 120w x2 @ 4 ohms.
what is the difference between the 2 and what does the above mean?

There is only £10 difference between to 2 so want to get the right one.

well by the looks of it the one is a mono amp (1-channel) and the other is a 2-channel

you need to know the impedance of the sub to buy the right amp

also with a 250wRMS sub you want to try get a 300wRMS+ amp

Agreed far better to have some reserve of power you dont use than to have an amp flat out and then it start clipping and destroy the speaker!
