alloy wheel problem

Hi, I have an 08 clio which came with the wolfrace triads as an extra, i recently bought a set of new wolfrace voodoo's, the problem being the back off the alloy that bolts to the hub is a lot deeper into the alloy then the originals hence making the alloy sit outside of the wheel arch, the front hubs are around 20 odd mm deep an i was wondering if i was able to get a thinner hub or machine 5-8 mm off the original hub, or am just overlooking something obvious or should sell the alloys and start again, thanks.
