Aircon not holding gas

had the aircon regassed last summer after we got our cup , and this year its not cold. We were told when renault did there checks during the bronze service that it wasn't getting cold .

any ideas if there is a common failure point ? i am sure loads of people must have bits of aircon they have pulled off so second hand servicable parts should not be an issue as i image new from renault are a fortune ? or can the seals be changed if thats whats leaking?

or best to go to an aircon specialist?

Im sure an ac specialist can find the problem, they inject some die into the system then put there yellow glasses on and use there funky uv light.

Mine had a corroded pipe end so i just bought a new set of O-rings for a few quid and fitted the relevant ones. It was perfect after that. But yeah just take it to an A/C specialist, they will sort it out for you.

just want the aircon working as its there , especially as not many cups had climate , and the mrs said it was hot today

give her her due , i came back from the gym at 6.30 in the audi with the roof down and the temp was 23 outside .

aha ..... crafty , i assume a dealer won't be able to do this?
Im not to sure mate tbh, id have thought that if they have the re-gas kit then they will also be able to fault find the the above equipment.

Dealer should have the equipment needed. We did.

If the A/C is rarely used, the oil that lubricates the seals and pump doesn't circulate and the seals can perish. As it's a gas, it's hard to find leaks. As previously said, a dye is added to locate the source of the leak. Either your local dealer or an AC specialist should be able to sort it for you.
