Airbag ECU... not the usual question

Due to having a different airbag ECU in my car (a 1.2 clio's) the Rs Tuner cannot recognise the VIN... Subsequently, I would like to buy a second hand ECU with a matching VIN; which is obviously a lot cheaper than buying new and getting it programmed!

So, to make the search easier, I was wondering if airbag ECUs have the VIN displayed on them?

And if I manage it get hold of one from, say, a ff 172 would I still need to get it reprogrammed to suit a cup (no side airbags)?
