air filter/box question.

Hi guys,i have searched for this but cant find an answer,all i am wandering (prob a really stupid question haha)
is how the airbox works,as just changed my 172 air filter to a ktec panel filter,and was bit confused how it works as the filter is at the top of the airbox above the inlet and outlet?so how is the air filtered??
Just sat wandering to my self and thought i would post on here as usually get very helpful answers from you lot!

The air gets sucked in through 2 hoses in the bottom of the box,
it goes through the filter and into the inlet manifold.

Haha yes of course
i cant actually belive i asked now,completley forgot about the inlet at the top,i even removed the pipe to get cover off haha!!!

It's ok, sometimes I try and get in the passenger side of my car,
the thing is i've never driven a left hooker. :S
