Do Clio 172,s have hydraulic tappets. I have just bought a cup and you can hear ticking on idle is it the valve clearance or a noisy injector is this perfectly normal ?

They aren't the quietest of engines. Yes they're hydraulic lash adjusters.

So is it common to have a bit of a small tick. Like injector noise

That's impossible to say. As your small tick could be "that's fucked" to me.
