Advice on car cleaning

Hi all,

My mothers Fiesta has not had a clean hand on it in years and I recently washed it yesterday. When washing the car shampoo was not cleaning it at all it was like it was not shifting no dirt. I used a pressure washer on it also and it was just like it had a layer of wax on that was not shifting? When washing the water gives the car its nice blue colour but then it runs off its just a dull worn out blue. Is there anything that can shift this and restore the colour to be able to clean it nicely?

Try something like Megs Ultimate Compound or even starting with something like Auto Glym Super Resin Polish.
