Advice on buying new gearbox for my R27 2007

It crunches in 3rd so synchro has gone I want to buy used box what do I go for and what's the model numbers do I go for revised 197 or a 200 box ? I don't want to have this prob again really I just wanna know what's the right and best box to get if I'm going to replace it ?

Better off getting yours done.
all of the boxes are weak I've done 200 boxes with 10k on the clock.

For what you'd pay for a used box I'm with Nobby above with getting yours rebuilt and re-shimmed because they are fairly common and imo not fit for purpose. Just make sure you get an actual warranty and use a decent gearbox oil such as TransELF 'NFJ'

Yeah they sell plain 172 xenons no parts for 70 quid.
Im impressed with there site 504 quid for a nd0 box.

So is it worth getting a later box with revised 6 th gear or just get mine re done if its all going to be out what's the best option and does anyone know where I can get it referbed ? Thanks guys

My R27 box went in monumental fashion about 6 months from new!

Fred at BTM had an engine and box for sale brand new so maybe see if he still has the box available.

Sorry this is slightly off topic but its shocking that they are £90 cheaper on ebay than on a specific car forum! You would have thought it would be the other way around, especially with the ebay fees they would get.

I've not done any digging but I'd guess the CS post was made as soon as they got the batch. I bet they don't fly off the shelf either so they prob thought "stick em on eBay" at lost a bit of profit in the process.

I'd still like to know where a batch like this came from though because they don't look like factory "new" units to me on this screen... that may just be the photos and light conditions though I'm not slandering.
