Adding Air Con

my car is a 1999 rsi, but the only extra i never seemed to get was air con, i know most other models came with it, is it possible to add air con to the car now, or is it loads of hassel ,
and if it could be done wot price would i be looking to pay including fitting,

really i thought it would be a bolt on thing, obviously not as easy as that but there must be room already for it ??
