A few engine questions

I have been talking to a mate who said that putting a 182manifold on a 172 will increase bhp, is this true?
Also I've got a pipercross air filter on my 172, it makes an amazing noise but nothing really to the power, which filter/induction kit would you recommend to do both?

May be not more power but better torque spread down low the band. For KIT's, general conscensus is Maxogen but are quite expensive, better (cheaper) a panel and take away the tube form the box to the acoustic valve, still make noise and won't at least lose you power!
