'94 Clio 1.2 RN engine mounts

  Clio 1.2 RN
Specifically seeking a little info. regarding our car , bought 6 months ago with 110k on the clock and drives well, engine in v. good condition:) . It's got the much-discussed
movement in the gearstick when changing gear/slowing-up. The engine movement is minimal when rocked but don't get the state of the top (driver's side mount) which has no cover and consists of a rubber block within a steel bracket which allows movement of approx. 10mm - is this OK or are we missing something ? And
is the gearstick movement down to the dogbone (lower link) mount ? Thanks.

i have the RT with same milage and the top engine mount has fluid in it and mine had split so i replaced it the other day, got a new mount from the scrappy and fitted it, takes 10 minutes so if you think its gone i would replace it as it will only bugger the other mounts m8.

mine gearstick was moving loads aswell because the bottom mount was loose, undid the bolts with my hands ! Have a check but its not anything to worry about really check the condition of the rubber on the mount and the how much the rubber bit wears the metal part of the mount.
