He was willing to sell you his own mount but I will double check.. Getting his dad to make one might take some time due to us all being in a queue for his welding skills haha. Leave it with me :)

Im off to your thread to see where your up too.. you tackling your wiring yourself made me man up and do mine my self. we all drive each other haha

Fingers crossed it will be running for the end of the week but I want it pretty much MOT ready for the end of the month... So it gives me a month before Edition38 to give it a good shakedown to make sure it will get there haha.

I love mk2's but not a fan of 20v's.. 16V Turbo FTW ;)

I know, 20v for reliability as it will be my daily. Cant wait to see it at ED38.

The past few weeks Ive slowly been getting my head round the 70's electrics to get everything working as it should. Ive been chasing faults with not much luck, in the end the problem was the dash loom and fuse box so I swapped them for a spare I happened to have. After that I was left with tidying up my wiring and soldering all the joins etc. No pictures of this bit as I would rather forget it happened haha

With all the wiring sorted it was time to get the interior out of my bedroom and into the car. Its the first time ive seen the full interior in the car and its made it feel like a car again. just needs a few niggles like lower dash trays to finish it off (poor pictures sorry) :eek:

I had a custom lower gearbox made by a local lad called Arun he has the sickest Mk1 Golf. The mount now sits alot further away from the ground. :cool:

As you can see the cars low again thats because the car flew through its MOT yesterday. I had to rig up a standard exhaust I had lent off my mates project. but other than that it was all good. I just need to save for tax and insurance now :boring:

Im pretty rough from bugjam but I will be up every night this week cracking on so when ever suits you. It gives us chance to dig out the bits from your list Laura. hope your feeling better soon :)

N/W folk are welcome to come view anytime but I would rather you wait till its done as its back in bits again to tidy everything up. I will bring it to a meet etc.

Edition is getting to close! It will only leave me with about 1/2 weeks to give it a shake down before letting it take the 200mile trip down. deffo come find me. I plan to enter it into 10 of the best on Saturday but either way It will be on the show field :D

Just under 40 days.. I still worry that mine won't be finished / make it. I hate being a pessimist :( *Note to self break down cover* haha

Go for it!!! your welcome to convoy with us, we will be going down early Friday morning maybe even Thurday night to ensure a good spot.

I did want to take it to tatton but don't think it will be insured or taxed in time.

Im ment to be working in pembrey that weekend doing the open drift cheampionship but atm thats all in the air. so i might be at tatton but certainly not in the golf lol

i also have only 1 weekend at home between now n E38. eeeek
i guess its worth a shot eh

the race is on.. if i can get the car almost MOT ready this week. then 1st MOT next week if i can.. im sure it will fail BUT at least ill have a propper snag list

I have spent most of my evenings this week in the engine bay finishing off the looms, wrapping and stashing them. This also included relocating the coil and ignition amp to the scuttle tray. To say im glad its over is an understatement but it was deffo worth the hassle.

A standard R5 GTT carb will take a 1 bar of boost on the standard jetting.. If I go above a bar my mate Rob said he will bore out the jet for me. but I indend to run it at about 10-12 psi to make sure it gets to edition38 then after that the boost is getting wound up, Ive got mates with a Mk1 1.8T Van and a Mk1 G60 2 door Jetta to show whos boss. ;)

200bhp epic... scary but epic..
there was an old escort at Malory this weekend, propper battered things but my god it flew and he was throwing it round at warp speed. made me a little worried haha

After driving it last night having less power for the time being is a good idea lol. It will now be on show at VWNW this weekend :approve:

As long as the ignition and timing is spot on it "should" stay in one piece". Im more worried about the turbo giving up.

Cheers -J-.. Its just like tuning a Renualt 5 turbo and they get some stupid power out of the C1J engine.
