36,000 mile service on 182 (west mids/Birmingham)

  172
Evening all...

Right I am going to service my car myself...

Plugs- (prob gonna stick some bosch super 4's in).
Oil filter
Air filter
Oil (recomendations????)
Fuel filter.

But whats the score with the aux belt and pulleys??? Is this something "diyable" or should it be best left to the experts... I have no specialist tools but good mechanic ability.

Saying that- anyone recomended within the west mids who are trusted and reliable and resonably priced to do the aux belt and pulleys/tensioners.

Is it not worth just paying someone to do it so it has FSH? As it's a newish car. Also don't need to do the Spark plugs.

I am not even remotly interested in FSH for resale value purposes.....only for running and reliability purposes.

The car is paid for by work through a car allowance- by the time it comes to change it - it will either be a dead 100k+ miler and p/x'd trade or I will turn it into a track car- and also be at the point when its worth peanuts and fsh stamped dealer history etc wont be inportant - so I'd rather save the money.....

But thanks for your thoughts :)

don't even bother with super 4's waste of time and money, NGK only in the F4R

Fine I'll shove some NGK's in her

Knowle is good... I live near the NEC

A chap at work said his brother knows you- I work for Morgan Est at Bickenhill.... prob makes no sense or means nothing to you lol..

Are you offering or suggesting someone who can do the aux belt for me?

PM me some details if you like.

If your car is less than 3 years old then Renault may try and wiggle out of any warranty jobs that need doing if you have no service history.

I am under the understanding warranty runs out at 3years or 36k miles... my car is over 36k now.

na i don't do home jobs! car would have to come to work with me (stafford)

Need a price mate and also time frame and location and I can see about bringing it up to be done at the weekend or somet.

I think Yozzasport are £350 for the 36K service, pretty much the same as most places. Don't think they do weekends, just call them!! www.yozzasport.co.uk I'm sure they will just do the aux belt if you want to do the other parts yourself... If its all paid for then why not just get it all done in one go?

Only Rentech are cheaper (£250 last time I checked) but they are down south. Worth the trip from all the feedback i've seen.

Become a member and you can search for the local places yourself, also read up on what parts to get, best places to get them, etc ;)
