182 xenons to 172 xenons

hi peeps, im thinking about changing my 182 xenons to 172 xenons for the black surrounds inside the headlight. Are they the same and how easy to change over? bumper off jobby? thanks a lot.
 
Bumper off, three bolts to get the headlight off. Depending if your swapping the bulb and ballast over do whatever, plug in afew wires and bolt back on. Simples.

Took me an hour to get one side of the bumper off as the bolt was rusty as and a pain to get to. Given I removed the little arch liner that was there it would have probably been easier mind, But I was doing it with the car on the floor so that would have been impossible.
 
Its nuts and bolts mate seriously. There's a guide to removing the bumper on here in the guides section. Then headlights are 10mm nuts iirc, two on the bottom corners and one on the top under the bonnet. Unclipping the wires are just beyond simple. Then there off.
