182 Tyre size

Evening all,

Ive just been down to local tyre fitting place to get a tyre for the mrs car, when i was down there i thought id get a quote for a pair of tyres for my 182. The tyres i have fitted are all 205/45/16, but when they asked for my reg plate for suitable sizes/makes, they came back and said i should have either 195/45s or 205/40s, and thet the tyres i have fitted are wrong size?

I have searched here and read a couple of threads but it seems people are jumping between 195/45s and 205/45s?

what was the original tyre size, and does anyone use 205/40s?

Think they came with 205/45, saw a car at FCS with 195/45 on and it looked like it had a bit of stretch lol, did not like.

I have 205/45 on my 182 wheels

Thats good to know,just seems strange that their computer would come up with different sizes.

172's came with 195/45 standard and 182's 205/45 standard. Either will do.
