182 gear box is it the same as a 172?

Im selling the gearbox from my 182 non cup 04 plate.

Is it the same as the 172 box?

Esentially yes, I think there is a slight difference in the ratios but nothing that would prevent fitment.

Just ensure the buyer doesn't own a Cup as it wont have the speedo pick up in your box.

I think its to do with the speedo output, later cars dont have, first 172's and cups did have them...

The lad who wants to buy has a 02 172 mine was a 182 04 if that helps?

It will fit fine, the 182 box is slightly stronger too if anything. As long as his isn't a cup.
