182 Common issues......

  Clio Sport 182
My 182 appears slightly sluggish. I know on idle its slighty rough but I have read on here 182 can be like this so ill look at swapping injectors (would these in itself cause problems ?)

Me and the wife had a slight blast (she was in her 172) as I knew my motor just doesn't feel as quick as her's to drive and it was confirmed lol

Is there any pipes / area's I can check for blockages, clear etc to see why mine just isn't picking up like hers ? I'm new to Clio's so just wondered if there was common problems I can check for.

Haha thanks pal, im thinking start with the easiest (breather pipes, hoses) and then work from there. It could be that it does need injectors as tickover shouldnt be this lumpy but the more i read on here the more its possible lol

When I first bought my 182 it felt just like how your describing yours... Underpowered and sluggish.

It was on 70,000 miles and with it being 10 years old I had no record of the cambelt being change plus the dephaser was rattling too so took it to a Renault specialist (DDC Doncaster) for belts and dephaser doing and it now feels like a completely different car, picks up from low down better and pulls harder up top.

From what ive read the F4R engine is really sensitive to timing.. so I'm guessing it must have been slightly out before hand and now it's setup properly.

There's possibly loads of things it could be but for my car it was down to incorrect timing.

Ive got SH here and im on 108k, at 100k it had all the belts done so hopefully it was done right but you never know :) dephaser was done @ 95k
