172 Problem with handling

  clio
Hi,

My girlfriend is saying that her beloved 172 is not handling well.

She is saying that the car is not holding well into the bends like it used to and in her words "it might as well just be a normal car"!

The car feels like its sliding and taking a bend at 50/60 doesn't feel safe at that speed.

She has had a rear tyre replaced recently - could this be the cause?

Looking for pointers into what the problem might be - would getting the tracking done help?

Thanks

Rich

It is a normal car. It's a Clio...

Have you/ Can you drive it ?

Tyres .. check all four pressures firstly. What tyres are on there ?

"Taking a bend at 50/60" .. is this bend a hairpin, or a 2 mile motorway curve ?

Shocks worth looking at as above.. any signs of leaking fluid on the rears ?

Sliding at the front or the rear ? Left and right hand turns ?

Mate, I have same problem, got it up in the air and a pry bar out.....rear beam bushes are goosed and left rear shock is weeping......

Trying to ascertain if Powerflex do an uprated rear bush and also work out whats best to do regarding coilovers, seems there's no definitive answer lol
