172 Fuel Economy

A bit of a daft question but should fitting a different exhaust to my car
effect the fuel economy any opinioins welcomed

ive got a ktech steath exhaust mate and made no difference what so ever and i do about 1500 miles a month

yep just had a ktec fitted very happy with it. Maybe its my fault for gunning it everywhere to hear the noise

It has been proven conclusively that cars with big noisy exhausts get significantly worse fuel consumption that ones that don't. But that's because of the people who drive them and the way they drive.

I had a prospeedexhaust on my old 172 and cound easily achieve 40mpg with town/motorway driving.

My 182 struggles to see 35mpg with the standard exhaust.

will get them to give it a thorough check for leaks when it goes in to have the brakes sorted next week.
