172 conversion question's

well i have a 172 cup write off and i want to put that engine and bits into a ph1 1.2/1.4 shell and i was just wandering if the wiring will work as it will be a new engine but older car and is the steering rack the same as the 172 cup engine's? just need to now really as i wanna know about the little niggley bits and the bits that are a pain in the ass before i start messing so any body that knows it would be a big help
