16" Alloys on a 2002 1.6 16v Clio

Hi I'm just about to order some alloy wheels and wanted to check that they would go on ok.

7x16 ET40
Tyres are 205/40 R16

Height wise these sit slightly lower than the original 185/55 R15 but I'm more concerned on the width of the tyre and offset?

If someone could let me know that would be great, also if they are ok how much could I lower it just for future info.

Should be fine. Lowering wise should be ok for most of the usual heights again really.
