  Clio Trophy
Thanks for the advice and opinions everybody. haha nice to see that nobody slagged the 6 off! It's a great car, best i've ever had. It's going to be between a 182 ff with cup packs or a trophy (trophy = if im lucky) depends if I can be patient enough to save more money to get one.

  Nothing at the mo :(
i am sorta in the same boat as you.. but with a 172 cup and a 182 with cup packs.. i can afford the a ok 172 in a few months.. but gonna save a bit longer to get the 182 :p

Not read most of the thread, but mine will be fir sale in the next 2 months mate.

its an 05 Silver 182 with both cup packs. 42k miles, FSH Renault and Specialist. Just tax'd for 6 months, MOT is due next month and I'll get it done.

Immaculate inside and out apart from some stone chips to the front end.

Currently on AST coilovers, with a Yozzasport exhaust and got some fresh powdercoated 16" turinis with brand new tyres too.

I can sell standard or with any mix/match of the mods if wanted, but I want a lot more than 6k for how it is at the minute.

pm me if interested.

Dark wheels are for the Cup suspension, however they could be resprayed, only other way is check the bolt spacing on the hub.

Bigger rear spoiler and front splitter are the cup spoiler packs.

Just 2 packs yes.

In the front wheel arches, where the front shocks bolt onto the hub of the car, there are 2 bolts which hold this in place.

The cup suspension pack has a different distance between these 2 bolts compared with a non cup'd 182.
If you do a search on here then you will find the measurement difference.

but apart from the alloys and the spoilers there nothing really in it with a normal 182? cause i see a far 182's around but the ones with the 2 cup packs are 6k+ near me

go for the trophy!

or save yourself 3k and buy a 172 cup or normal 172, then spend the other 3k sitting it on nicer wheels, suspension, bigger brakes.. you could go for a ph1 172 for 2k and spend 4k sitting it on H&Rs, better brakes, throttle bodies...

I wouldn't go for a 182 personally . yes they are supposedly 10 bhp more but look at the cost difference at the moment.. I've seen mint 172s on 45k for 3k lately.. and 172 cups are probably for the more raw feel and ultimately probably the "quickest" but that is a can of worms not to be opened in this thread.

Why a can of worms? Dont people like the 172 cup?

As with all owners clubs there is alot of banter about which variant of the RS clio is the quickest, they are all mint cars and all the same ish speed so like he said its another can o worms.
But the Trophy is the best of course, :rasp::rasp:.

Anthracite wheels, wider track (minute), michellin PE2's and a bigger spoiler i think.

Better handling and chassis set up. But you could get a none cupped one and put some coilies on it for the same effect.

Go for the trophy if you can find a good one for 6k.

  Weeman sucks ****
if you want more fun get a 172 cup or ph1 172 and a good suspension setup. ignore the bigger brakes people just uprate the pads and lines only if you go on track. i've run the lot and now back on std renault pads/discs which are fine for road.

same amount of comfort in a cup just without the suede. the 182 cup i drove wasn't too great, the only 182 i've had fun in is an utter shed (hi tom) and the ph1 is still great fun. plus you'll have change from 6k. the trophy did feel nice around the ring though, just why oh why would you buy a magenta car is beyond me ;)

imo of course.

well im tempted to get the 172 cup now tbh

Ive enver had air con. ive never had traction control, ive never had cruise control ..

So there's no point me getting it now :p so might get a 172 cup for say 4k.. and spend 2k on mods :p

  Clio Trophy
I would like a 172 cup myself, but the 182 is more a tempting car. More luxuries + modern etc. The only upside with a 172cup is there's less things to go wrong haha

go for the trophy!

Rubbish, they are all practically the same. The 182 is just the 172 but newer so is therefore more expensive just like any other car would be. Of course condition is something to be considered but generally cars that are newer are more expensive!

it your money and you,ll now what you want in a car but at the end of the day the 172 and 182 are great fun wee cars fullstop.
