Hmm - whole thing ended badly after two months when a wet road/diesel/adverse camber combination killed my elise and nearly killed me!
So I now have a Ford Racing Puma! Although Im pining for my cup as its prbably the best all round car Ive owned. Tempted to go for a new 182 cup but the...
Hi all - its been a fair while since I posted being as I lost contact with my beloved Cup after chopping it in for an Elise!
Anyway does anybody on here own Silver Cup NV 53 NTF?
If so I have a Hillpower ECU which will only work on that vehicle if youre interested! It was only run on the...
Keeping mine for a year or so at least, than maybe will go for an RX8, New Golf GTI (depending what theyre like) or maybe save some money and get an S3 / TT
I guess Im in the minority here but my cup ticks and creaks after a run and it makes the smallest journey feel like it was a thrash around a rally stage!
Looks good, sounds good but Im not convinced the gains are fantastic compared to a viper or maxogen
(though I still havent gotten around to running a proper cold air feed yet, despite JAY172s helpful piccies  )
I reckon running in might be the answer
I had a CTR and a Coop S before my cup and the cup has more lowdown urge than the ctr and the throttle is a million times sharper than the S.
That said I often feel as though Im going 10 - 15 mph slower than I am which never happened in the other...

Nice 1 Craig... I think the yellow looks stunning! If I could afford it at this point (and if my GF would let me) I would definately splash out on that...
Defo H7s - have replaced them with some Halfords extra bright bulbs (spur of the moment purcahse) after the bluevisions didnt fit.
I thought it was weird at the time cos my wife used to have a dynamique and that had H4s. Maybe its unique to silver cups? Probably not though, just whatever...
Weird - I thought the bulbs in the cup were H4s so I ordered some for mine but it turned out they were H7s in my car so the new bulbs are in the wifes rover now!
Dont know what the sidelight fitting is - just a standars push fitting. If you want distinctive rather than bright sidelights I...
Wouldnt say I feel unsafe in my cup - it just doesnt have the feel of solidity my CTR did. Its just as grin inducing though, looks better in silver (than any CTR) and provides a pleasant surpirise, cos every time I get out of it I realise just how cool it looks!
Keep the cup!
I loved my CTR but it was harder to live with daily than the cup, youre right about the gearbox though - thats what Ive missed most about it.
the other option is to do what MaLicE suggested and get an RX8, or wait a year or two and get a Golf R32 (thats what Im planning)...

so i had about £9,000 grand to buy my next prodject
I love my cup but with that money Id be having a 360 cs, Aston DB9, 911 GT3 and an Audi RS4 for everyday use!
;) ;)
Seriously though, it may not feel as solid but the cup is way more engaging and easily as fast as a CTR
Thanks guys,
Think Ill have a bash at fittin a feed like JAYs being as Ive got the scoop affair, I reckon Id have trouble fitting that between the rad. and the foggy. If I leave the existing feed in place that leaves me a spare piece of cold air ducting I can use on the wifes BRM :D
Help!
Just fitted HP ecu and IK to my cup and am still using the original air feed.
Need advice from you guys whove already fitted one to a cup/172!
Where is the best location for the feed to run from and how do I remove the existing feed?
How have others done it?
Hope youre feelin ok m8 I had some f*ckers jump out of a car and give me a kickiing a good few years ago, scares the sh1t out of you for ages afterwards.
I reckon tasers are the way forward
14000 is definitely a lot for a used type-r.
Its worth trying to get an extended test drive in the honda cos mine had a lot of problems with steering pulling to the right and tramlining, which prompted me to get rid of it in the end, after numerous visits to my dealership.
Sounds like...

This is all true...
Strangely I also have a silver cup. Its also a fact that the silver ones are at least 50%...
I suspect its a reg vardy thing.
I bought my cup from rv Darlington and I first test drove one in December and as you say they put £2 petrol in it and I pootled about town for 15 mins. Said I wanted to come back for a proper test drive and they were iffy as I hadnt shown much commitment to...
My wife had a 2001 dynamique and that didnt have auto wipers or lights, must have added them whrn they revised the range in 2002.
damn goog little car though, well nippy for a 1.2 and handled great. Also (strangely) the ony car, with the exception of a new MINI (also strangely) weve owned...
I live nr Darlington and have bought one of tha last CUPs, having previously owned a CTR and a Mini Cooper S.
The CUP is imho as fast, if not faster, in everyday driving than the CTR and way more excitng than the S. Had cc on the Mini and maybe Ill regret it going come summer but at the...
I had a CTR for nearly a year but sold it as I got pissed off with the dreaded pulls to the right problem. I then got a Cooper S which had the most direct steering and quality feel of any hot hatch Ive driven but couldnt cut it in the speed stakes. Iv e had my cup for a couple of days and it...
Hi all - new here
Just bin browsing around to see how many other silver cup owners there are - never seen another silver one.
Saw the thresd mentioning the fact theat the silver cup was produced as the PS2 in France and wondered if anybody knows how to / can get hold of the PS2 stickers...
