Sorry. New fiesta St, 180 bhp one.
And yes the build quality is fine. My Leon's held together as well as my audi. Few squeaks out of the dash if I had to pick.
Also agree with the comments. My leon very planted but ultimately quite boring. Can return a very good pace and maintain a 35+...
I like these aswell.
BUT,,,,
For the same money you can have a ibiza Cupra tdi.
Which has 160 bhp out the box, shorter final drive, a bigger turbo good for 200bhp and ap 4 pot breaks. Plus a black interior, which for me is essential as I'm a messy sod
Run a mapped leon cupra TDI 150 as my...
Why ?
The std top mounts are awful.
Putting pms top mounts on my other wise std trophy made such an improvement.
Plus if you take them of you'll have a load of wholes in your turret
Both of my 182s ( firstly was a trophy with a scorpion rs192, second is a cup with a ktec racing exhaust) were slower once decated.
I reffited the cat to both but cut the 'bell and cup' joint of and welded a sleeve on to maintain the diameter.
Gained 3mpg from both aswell.
I had a trophy. Refurbed the dampers and changed every bush on it
Sold it as wanted a turbo again.
I now have a 182 cup. Which I've put on Billstien b14s. And I've fitted proper non flip forward Recaros from a Evo
My cup drives better for sure. I hates the trophy seats. Gave me a bad back...
I got a bung for my focus rs.
Only for long journys on the motorway though. Certainly wouldn't consider driving on boost with it in
Created a huge amount of back pressure
The front shocks are held in by the top mount and top nut?
Very common design. There's a big rubber bush at the top of the shock with a penny bearing underneath.
This sits up against the bottom of the shock tower and the the large but and plate bolt to the shock from the inside if the...
Looking at eating some hi spec front breaks, 4 pots, 2 piece discs 300mm
I've got 2118 speedlines in 15" and a set of oz f1s ( proper ones not the renault type )
I know 280s go under but has any one tried 300mm breaks under 15s.
Cheers
I had a 192rs on my old trophey, with a Decat.
Was very loud, put the cat back in and wasn't to bad. s**t fitment though. Had to weld it twice
I've had a non red miltek aswell. Also loud
Got a ktec 'race ' exhaust on my current 182, with Decat and it's silly loud. Gunna weld a silencer...
I payyed 500 for a 52 plate 172.
Chucked my 15" oz wheels, pure motor sport front set up, rear arb and some Billstiens I treated it to and I love it. Average 33mpg aswell.
Zetec tec turbo is pretty compact but the mtx75 box is quite big. They mount in a very similar way to the Clio engine...
I was indeed chip.
Mainly due to buyying a whole b18 engined honda for £200.
As as age increased so did my income. Promptly moved the escort on ( luke lav had it and we chucked a rwd volvo set up in it ) and bought a focus rs to be a weekend toy whilst I had my trophy. Ended up using the rs...
Ratios are crap in the vag box to.
My ibiza cupra had a 02j I think, would do 112 in third ??
St170 box is shared with the Mini Cooper s also. Very cheap to pick up.
The op wants to fit a focus rs gear box to a Clio engine then drop it into a Clio?
My point is,
why would you go to the trouble of fitting a Clio engine to it, when in my opinion and experiance the zetec turbo that comes fitted to the focus is a better engine to start with and far more capable...
I know his isn't going to go down well in the Clio world
but having owned a focus rs.
Theres now way in hell is be removing a perfectly good zetec turbo that will run 400bhp on a un opened engine from a gear box
to bolt a Clio one to it.
The boxes are strong. So us the clutch. Ran 330 bhp...
I personally hate the 182 wheels. There rank.
Ive ve had a 182 trophy.
Now have a 172 ph2 on ph1 wheels. And with a 182 manifold and Decat.
Apart from the lack of cruise control I think it's got the best of all the bits
having had a trophy and now using a 172 as a dailey this is my opinion.
the trophy seats although recaros, are crap, they squeak and are uncomfortable. I actually think the std sport seats offer more support.
with the sachs, mine had just been rebuilt ad the drive was good. ive just put...
I went from pilot sport 3s to falken 914 in this size on the front of my 300bhp focus rs
apart from wearing out a bit quicker, I personally rate them over the michellins.
( the michellins lasted about 8k on the front and cost nearly 180 a pop.
I I got a pair of the falkons fitted for 150...
Oh I'd deffinatly be putting in spreader plates.
Pointless other wise.
I I totally get that a safety devices will be better. But I can't warrant 500+ for a cage in a car that owes me 500 lol.
I know now you can't put a price on safety, but welded tube is pretty much welded tube for what I want.
As above. Any body got one ?
Was as going to make my own cage
( made cages before, I'm an engineer before any one starts :) )
but it see these on eBay pretty damn cheap. Just wondered what the fittment is like.
My cheers in advanced.
I bought my 172 to kick the living s**t out of it and not have to worry so I could retire my focus rs from Dailey duties and car park dinks
i bought my trophy ( recently sold and replaced with above s**t box) on good advice that there am amazing drivers car/ best front wheel drive etc.
What...
