Just picked up a ph1 172 engine and I’m about to strip down ready for a rebuild but what upgrades/mods do you recommend?
I don’t want to run itb’s as it will be in a daily and touring Europe and I’m not chasing big bhp figures.
Your opinions please?
Ok so I have purchased a ph1 172 engine for £50 and my plan is to rebuild build it from the sump up, but I’ve never done it before, so what recommendations would you give for a first timer?

Re wiring a clio 182 and deleting all the orignaL dodgy French electrics but just need to know what the 4 wires coming off the pump do?
1.black = earth
2. Thick beige =
3. Thin beige =
4. Purple =

So I’m in the process of building a road legal track car and about to rewire and remove all the original wiring inc uch and ecu, but I want to keep the central locking system if possible.
Is there away of making the central locking work without the uch crap?
Ok kiddies, where is the best place to get a lightened flywheel? I’m looking to be fitting one when I swap the box and fit a new clutch.

So this morning my ignition coilpack decided to split and start smoking, phoned my local dealer and got told they are no longer available! I got one from ecp and fitted it but it was only firing on 2 and 3 ( checked between coil and lead) so guessing a faulty one and have a replace,ent one...
So my cup is getting the bodywork sorted soon and whilst it’ll look awesome on the outside, the inside will look old and tired as the silver seatbelts and seats are filthy!

I'm in the process of changing over the ph2 172 non cup wiring to cup wiring, all is fine apart from the tailgate wiring. Purchased a rear loom for the car and the seller has cut the loom off at the hinge.
Does anybody have a diagram or pictures of what colour wires go where, my plan is to use...
Ok so I'm swapping my clio non cup to cup loom due to no air on and no abs, I have a dashloom and engine loom on its way but I don't have the loom that joins them both together (bulkhead to engine bay fuse box)

ok so the scum run mobile has developed an annoying misfire! Car ( 172 ph2) starts up an idles fine, will drive fine for about 2 miles then develops a misfire on 1 or 2 cylinders! If you turn the car off and leave for an hour to cool down it starts fine again, suggestions please ?
So I have an early ph2 172 with the speed sensor in gearbox, I have all the one lines from a 172 cup and was thinking of fitting them. Question is, I'm planning on selling the car April next year and wondering if it's worth swapping the brake system over or just selling the cup system on?
