Been off the forum after popping two engines in my 172 Cup back in 2013, driving an awful Saxo VTR for a while then moved onto the land of the rising sun into the world of classic impreza ownership which is coming to an end on wednesday when I got pick my new baby up.

Ok, the back Story. Had my new engine fitted about a month ago, all fine, started driving back from work last night changed up to 5th onto a dual carriageway revs dropped a lot quicker than normal, pulled straight off, got a loud tapping from top...
Just broken down, took it up to about 70 in 3rd went to grab 4th and lost all power. Still turns over on starter motor but don't think it's sparking can anyone help me out with some ideas?

Had cup in for test today, failed on brakes (need bleeding) and high lambda reading after 2nd fast idle test.
Now the CO 90%) and HC (5ppm) levels are fine so the cat is ok.
Lambda reading was 1.10 first fast idle and 1.07 second fast idle. pass rate is between 0.97 and 1.03...

The cup has developed a knock from the front drivers side when going over bumps at low/med speed in the past couple of weeks, I've had it up in the air and wiggled it all about a bit and there doesnt seem to be any play in anything. All bolts are tight.
Anyone have an idea...

After much swearing, pain and suffering I've finally got the track rod end changed.
However I went a bit unconventional and got the grinder out since heat wasnt working and chopped off the lock nut too.
Anyone know what thread size the track rod end lock nut is by any chance or know where...

Gave it a bit of right boot on the way home from work and it jumped out of gear in first and there is quite a loud/fast knocking noise at high revs (above 5k) Anyone have an idea what it could be?

Just bought a very cheap and very clean 172 Cup after my VTS failed its test magnificently so moved over from Sax-p!
plans are ktec carbon splitter, ktec stealth exhaust, espace v6 airbox, 3/4 plate and enjoy it :)
