The Geartronics cut be triggered either by a digital switch or by a load cell.
It's much better then the standard system that was used on the original cars, plus its inexpensive.

We have the remains of a few Sodemo engines kicking around, originally from a Continental Megane touring car so are going to rebuild the engine using some of those bits...

Probably oil surge caused bearing seizure; broke the rod, chewed the piston and liner up, put a hole low down in the block and bent a couple of valves.
We have got most of the bits kicking around to rebuild something decent along the lines of a F7R so going to stick with that for simplicity...
Got to redo some of the exhaust as theres a split down the length of the center box, plus it needs to be a bit quieter.
Also got some Ferodo DS3000 pads to put on it which should hopefully sort the brakes.
First event at the weekend, purely as a shakedown as it has done hardly any miles.

The fuel return from the engine does go into a container that the pump sits in, nicely designed and compact.
Have done a few more little jobs; fitted navigators map light, seats properly bolted in, stuff like that.
Also got a package with loads of little bits in...

And what do we end up with? A new fuel gauge.

Which is safer though, attaching belts to existing standard eyes which arn't in the optimium position but are guaranteed to be strong or attaching them to a plate and eye put in by Mr Bodjit with his gasless MIG welder and cordless drill?

It's all very well, but unless you are building a car from scatch it really isn't simple to comply with all those guidelines.
In my opinion unless you are using the car for competition you should stick with the standard seats and belts
