no cars steering goes to the centre on its own does it :s

It crunches in 3rd so synchro has gone I want to buy used box what do I go for and what's the model numbers do I go for revised 197 or a 200 box ? I don't want to have this prob again really I just wanna know what's the right and best box to get if I'm going to replace it ? thanks guys
