I've not posted up any of my videos for a while although I have been uploading many.
Thought it was about time I did plus these are GREAT ACTION videos and in one of the most extraordinary races anywhere in the world.
They are from the Birkett 6Hr Relay race held on the Silverstone GP Circuit...
OK, it's not up to my usual standard of real-life, real-action, onboard Motorsport Videos but can't a guy have a bit of fun every now and then :).
Notice I didn't post it on an iPhone, Video Editing, Special FX, Movie Review, Amateur Film Director forum :)
I did look round and cant really see...
Just put together a highlights video as a bit of an experiment. As well as some external video I show full screen video of :-
Front View
Driver View
Rear View
Pedalcam View
Bit time consuming so unlikely to be a regular thing but what do viewers think?

I've now posted the video from Abdulaziz's teammate Ahmen Al-Kuwari. This is Ahmeds 2nd Race weekend in these cars EVER. He is very succesful in his home country of Qatar in their version on Time-Attack but still learning the V8s and the Bahrain circuit, we did make great progress though.
He...
Thanks for the comments guys. These are nowhere near as sophisticated as the Aussie V8s, they started off as road cars and were built by the series organisers. The Aussie V8s are full carbon, virtually space frame, probably 2/3 the weight and 20-30% more power. We have very limited setup...
Just had a great weekend with my drivers out in Bahrain for Round 2 of the 2011/2012 V8 Championship.
This is some great footage from Onboard Abdulaziz Al-Yaeesh who, after an incident in Round 1 found he had a bent chassis. This left him 8th on the grid .. but Aziz is a great racer and he...
Alex,
Yes, marshal is recovering well, he had 2 breaks which needed pinning but he is back home and exceeding doctors expecation with his progress (hardy bunch these marshals).
Serious Crash in the Britcar 24Hr 2011 - Marshal Injured
I'd held off posting this publicaly as a marshal was seriously injured in this incident. Since it has occured I have kept updated on his condition and i'm...
Unfortunately both where on the front corner so bent the suspension and damaged a damper. We had replacements but meant we had to retrack the car etc. so cost quite a bot of time, first one about an hour, 2nd about 45 mins.
A few videos uploaded and more to come over the next few days.
We started well back in 46th having not done anything other than our mandatory 3 laps (2 flying) in quali and i'd not driven the car since last year or on this circuit layout.
We did get up to 27th after the first hour but we had 3...
I'm doing the Britcar 24Hr again this year and have posted a couple of vids up already, will have the video and data running all race so lots more coming up over the next few days ...
Only one Clio in the race this year.
Britcar 24Hr 2011 - LetBattle Commence - Start of Quali from Pitlane...
I think you have the right one, Jimmy knows Chris and he was a great help to him when getting his car setup to take on Time Attack.
Supercharge my Honda? Nooooo, when I was looking for a Honda Elise a few years ago there were two I was interested in, one was supercharged already and I even...
As far as I know yes, not too sure on horsepower but will ask.
I dont have a VX no. I do have an Elise S2 with Honda Type-R engine conversion though, N/A and gives about 210bhp.

Name doesn't ring a bell, Jimmy has quite a big following if the various 'poppers by' on the test day was anything to go by, they do have more razamataz about the series than most 'race' series.

Time Attack is split into Categories, dont really have the concept of an overall winner. First there is Pro and Club then within those there is 4WD, FWD and RWD, Jimmy won the Club RWD Championship.

Well spotted Dan, he's actually not timing his H&Ts there very well, the first one 4th to 3rd not at all. He blips then slowly bring the clutch back up which you hear 're-revs' the engine.
We did work a lot on H&T with regard to timing as Jimmy was generally too late with his blip and...
Had a few comments on this video that the car sounds more like a 'sewing machine' LOL so have posted a video from the training day before which is what it REALLY sounds like inside the car (was using my Video system).

My 3rd Championship winner this year for the drivers I look after, this time in the UK Time Attack series (RWD, Club).
This is onboard with Jimmy White as he sets a laptime 3 secs quicker than his Championship rival and pre-race Championship leader, in an 600bhp RX7. This nets Jimmy the 2011...
No, going off (in this instance) just means they are just losing about 1% at most of the grip you had a couple of laps before.
In fact I have just analysed the cause of the slide. The driver generally did a very light brake here, hardly anything at all but it resulted in a turn-in speed 3.5mph...
Well, I really had forgotten about this beleive it or not but Ken the driver reminded me and so I scoured the video and found it out.
Blanchimont 2 is the most feared corner at Spa next only to Eau Rouge and not the place to being sideways in a Porche at 110mph!!!

Re: Onboard Crash Avoidance - Spa - Porsche 911 GT3RS vs Ferrari Scuderia - Close Cal
Just by the nature of the corner, heavy braking from 125 to 38mph and the fact that the Scud was coming into the pits and doing 20mph at a spot where Ken would have been doing 65mph and no doubt the Scud...
Re: Onboard Crash Avoidance - Spa - Porsche 911 GT3RS vs Ferrari Scuderia - Close Cal
Yes, I work with a few drivers in the Lotus series' Ken, Stu Rowland, Dave Hay, Phil Stratton Lake, Andy Napier and a few others.
It was a very restrictive 'experienced' only drivers day, 300bhp cars...
Well, a change of pace from my last post on here, where I posted some onboard from my 40bhp (at best) 2CV in the 24Hr race :)
I was with a client at Spa yesterday who is an Elise Trophy/Lotus Cup UK driver and is racing at Spa in a few weeks. This trackday was a 300bhp+ day so he had to take...
Some night footage here, took a few scalps after the safety car had come in and set quicker laps then I had in daylight then ... the rain came..

One of our drivers, Duncan Keith had never driven a 2CV before quali day, never driven Snetterton, never driven more than 20-25 mins and never driven in the dark.
What's more he had oblyever raced one car before ... A Radical!!! Big culture shock for him.
It did take him a while to get...
You can generally buy a drive for £1,500, sometimes less. I think it even adds to the event that you do it with a team you have never met before. I didnt know or had met any of my fellow drivers or the team before quali on the Friday.

Caffiene is your friend :) worked out we spend 26 secs on each of the 2 straight, just steering straight and pedal to the metal.
You do have to concentrate though, you need to be inch perfect and use as little steering as possible.
