    well with the list above, i assumed that if my rotor arm isnt turning then i shouldnt expect a spark anyhow, so there would be no need to check HT leads of the coil, as even if i changed all of this it still wouldnt move, what big bottom pulley are you on about mate?

    finally i have just got round to checking the plugs, no sparks on any of them, and they are al in the condition they should be, some one else said maybe my cambelt, but i would still expect the sparks, and when i had no plugs in in the search for a spark i also found out that i had compression...

    I have now got enough money to deal with the prob of having to change the engine of my 1.4 RT 1995 5dr, but i was just woundering what everyone else thought on this problem... Ignition is turned, Starter motor goes does its thing, so does alternator, but nothing else happens, no firing no other...

    I just got my manual for the car off ebay <1995 1.4RT> and s**t me i need to get a jack to hold the engine to even look at my timing belt!

    ok then cheers mate, got my manual on the way so i can have a go myself, isit possible further damage could have been caused leading to a whole engine change? or should i just get away with the head?

    Well the engine dosent start anyway as it stands with the cambelt having snapped...could this have caused what is happening with the water??

    Right i have a 1995 <M> Clio RT 1.4... Cambelt has gone! The bit now bothering me is, water is not staying in the water bottle it is flowing straight out, there are no pipe leaks, and it is not leaking out of the radiator! Where could it be going? What problems is this causing? Is it possible...

    I have found i have no water in my water bottle on the engine of my Clio 1.4RT 1995 M plate... Could this have led to my CAMBELT going and what other damage could it have caused me if any? Thanks, Vince

    Right i see.. well i dont want one of them lol so if i just got replacement valves and a good quality timing belt then i should get away with just that, without a replacement head unit and pistons?
