If it was me id be getting a £800 Ph1 172 cheaper to run less money invested in it proberly the quickest of all the sports will feel very raw compared to your space wagon corsa aswell. Abuse it till it blows up use the spare cash to run it on track days etc. Then use the rest of your student...

When i insured my PH1 i got quotes up to 4x the car value its shocking to be honest i have no idea how insurance companys can charge such high rates can only imagine its down to how much tax they pay

i would hate to be 18 and driving now i honestly do not think i would bother some of the quotes people at my football club have had are shocking just keep trying everything you can mate. Personally i wouldent bother with breakdown i would get it off green flag or RAC its easier IMO

i really wouldent bother, half way through when things are not just "dropping in" you will wish you had just sorted out the dent lol. This is a question not a high horse remark - are conversions and miss match cars not harder to insure, tax and sell?

Look at the paint codes on the sticker insider the door if you do a quick search on here someone will have posted the codes doing it by eye will be tricky as there isnt that different
