Hi guys,
Unfortunately I have written off my 2004 Artic Blue Clio 182 :dapprove: Valued at £3700 by insurers, but repair bill of £8500, Cat C. Done by an independant place, it might just about be repairable, but I'd rather break it now.
Lost the back end and hit a fence sideways, so...
Just a quick query. I'm putting my engine back together after a cambelt problem and got round to doing the timing now. Having a few issues getting it to line up perfectly.
There is a bit of play in the dephaser pulley (182 on about 75k miles), but I'm not sure if it's too much and therefore...
I'm replacing the clutch on my 182 as I have it in pieces at the mo after cambelt went. Just spent the day replacing valves!
Anyway got the valeo clutch kit, which has the friction plate, spring plate and release bearing. Just wondering if there are any other seals / parts I need to replace...
I was driving from Sheffield down to Surrey, in fairness in a fairly spirited manner. When I hit some of the 50mph average speed sections, when changing the music I noticed a new faint rattle. I thought it was probably the exhaust heatshield, attached to the steering rack which I changed last...
Final job (I hope) that I need to do to get the car sorted after a knock into the curb. Already changed subframe, strut and hub!
Probably gonna have a go this weekend, but just wanted to check a few things. The renault sport guide suggests the following, but I wondered if I definitely need...
Was parked one down from mine and looks like you left me a cliosport card, but I'm already on here!
RB, quite low, bucket seats inside, very nice.
I think I might have walked passed you as I was coming out of Tesco, but I wasn't really with it at the time!
Hi everyone,
I've had to replace a few bits on the front end of my 182 recently due to an earlier snow incident.
I had been driving round with a nsf hub with no ABS sensor in it. This obviously caused all the warning lights to come on and all the ABS, ESP etc. to be disabled. Anyway I...
Hi guys,
Need to do my auxiliary belt on a 182 ff with A/C. Looked into how you do it and reckon I'll be fine to do it myself. Just rang around for some prices.
GSF do the tensioner and belt, but don't seem to do the idler pulley:
Ribbed belt tensioner - £33.95 + VAT (Part No. 135R8022)...
Hi guys,
Had a minor snow, handbrake, :),, footbrake, curb, :o incident last night in the 182, like a total jeb end, so don't worry I'm not looking for sympathy.
Anyway, had a look today, looks like sole victim was the subframe.
Here's the offending near side, you can easily see...
Just thought I'd stick a few photos up of the things I've been doing on the car.
Got it back in June this year (standard 182), but recently given it a bit of TLC and armed with various spray cans, swapping wheels with widdo on here, getting sportlines on, peugeot spoiler etc. I'm pretty happy...
Hi guys,
Car started misfiring on me yesterday, never done it before, very down on power, not sure if was running on 2 or 3 cylinders but pretty rough anyway. Idle wasn't bad though, but a bit jumpy. Smell coming out the back was awful (bad eggs), I guess due to the cat being dowsed in...
Ok, so this is a massive long shot but,
Anyone in / near Sheffield work in car garage or tyre place with a 4 point lift that I'd be able to use for 10 minutes?!
Trying to find source of engine and gearbox oil leaks and would be a hell of a lot easier with the car up in the air!
Cheers
Andy
Hi guys,
Done a search on oil leaks and it seems they are pretty common from the top end around the cam cover.
However, I topped mine up to max 2 months ago and it's down to min now (according to handbook, that's 2 litres). Does that sound like too much for this typical top end leak?
I've...
Fitted some sportlines today and was a bit surprised how wobbly the top mounts are. Still it looks like others have this too.
Have a look at the video, are they all this wobbly?

Also the front left shock was weeping a bit of oil, is this common, or should I be...
and to quote McDonald's, "I'm loving it!"
Used to own an Ibiza Cupra which I loved, those VAG 1.8T engines are awesome. Then unfortunately had a Clio dci100 for a while to save some cash.
Was actually looking mainly at Leon Cupra R's (was so tempted by the 270 bhp remap potential!), but...
