The sharpest lense I own for my Canon is the bog standard 50mm.
An absolute steal at about £70.
You would be astounded at the quality and sharpness that this lense produces.
Saying that, the 18-55 is still a good all-rounder and more than good enough for web sized pictures.
Could I make a...
Had the same happen to my old fezzie. Got up one morning and it was totaled right down one side. Fortunately he left some light glass behind and I found the damaged vehicle (a pickup) a few streets away.
Get loads of photos of the 4x4 that you suspect and get back onto he police and tell them of...
I'm using that amp to drive some Rainbow components. I chose it mainly because it fits nicely under the front seat.
I'm more than happy with it. Can be a little bright with some music but a tweak to the treble control soon sorts it.
Couldnt comment on the rest of the kit though.
Thanks for the info guys.
I'm now convinced it's not the belt but a transmission noise of some kind.
It's definatly speed related, not engine speed though.
The new dogbone has made a world of difference to how it drives, much smoother take off and no jerking gearstick when you come off the...
Quick update..
Took it back to the garage this evening and they had a good look round the belt area.
I spoke to one of the chaps that did the belt change and they did use the locking tools and positioned the arrows on the tensioner correctly, spun the engine two revs and re-checked the position...
Ok,
Thanks for the advice.
I've just realised i've got a Haynes so I've had a look to see how it all works and I think I know what they have done aswell.
Is the RS one an ecentric cam type with a locking nut in the middle?
I would imagine they all use a similar type.
I'll take it back tomorrow...
Mmm,
Had it done at a back street garage but they do have a good reputation though.
Just had the belt kit and dogbone gearbox mount done,no water pump.
Would it be just new belt noise or does it need re tensioning?
Could it have damaged the new belt?
Ta
I've just had the cambelt and tensioner done on my 1.6 16v today and now i've noticed that it has a wining/whirring noise which is related to engine speed.
Done a search and it sounds like it could be over tensioned.
Does anybody know how they are supposed to be tensioned when fitted?
I assumed...
Hi all,
I,ve been mulling over the idea of an upgrade for a while and all of a sudden a spare £150 came my way so ......
I did a lot of forum searching for whats best ect and decided on these
Alpine 2 ch amp Alpine MRP-T222

Mmm,Not good.
Looks like they have hacksawed it and the handle or frame has been hitting the light at the same time. If you look at the scratches they seem to be be directional from top to bottom. The paint looks like a mole grip scrape. Clamp, twist, scratch!
Let them sort it and then tell them...
I have just bought a 1.6 Privelige.
I love it, haven't got any buzzing noises though.
I do hear a fan type noise winding down when I switch off but I assume this is just the aircon or rad fan.
Can you describe it a bit better?
Does it sound like a pump/electrical buzz/ is it related to engine...

Could be a relay (5-6)
If you have a multimeter then check for a live feed at the pump.

Could be sticking in the side runners. Common problem. Use some vaseline (or ky jelly if your that way inclined :-)
Rub it into the rubber guides up the side of the window

Did you change the leads?
Another very long shot is a collapsed baffle in the exhaust.
Heard of this before on fiestas before.
Is it a new exhaust? Was it fitted using silicone jointing compound?
Apparently this kills lambda sensors stone dead!
Still sounds like electrical/sensor problem...
Ya, Had the same thing, low tickover and bogging down on take off.
Get the throttle body cleaned. Don't go to Renault, any indepent will do it for you.
Obelix.
I would go for the 1KG one myself.
The discharge time of these is around the 10 second mark so imagine what your going to get out of the smaller aerosol types!
Also, make sure you know how to use it.
Most car fires start under the bonnet.
If this happens then DON'T open it.
Use the extinguisher...
