Trust me, on a Ka they look mint.
I had these XR2i wheeltrims on my Ka back in 98

Don't go too wide with the tyres, granted yours has the slower non-PAS rack, but I had great fun in one of a similar age, they are so chuckable on roundabouts, can be really lairy without going fast; if you stick wide tyres on it (185 or more probably) then you loose that fun. You would have to...
All the gearboxes have issues, even those being fitted to 200's, only differences are the ratios. Early cars very short, 08 on longer 5th & 6th, 200's have different 1-4 I think.
Look out for interior wear (seat bolsters, steering wheel in particular)
Front ball joints can be expensive to...
Bit more of an update;
MoT in August picked up an advisory for one of the o/s ball joints, but otherwise all good.
I was on holiday in July and bought myself a present, just had to work out where to mount it;
I did have it just clamped to the surround but having trialled it on a long...
And finally upto date!
Gave the car some attention today;
Wash with Zymol, 2 bucket method obviously
Dry with AutoGlym synthetic chamois thing
Clay with Bilt Hamber soft (very sticky when dry)
Polish with 3M Imperial Hand Glaze
Wax with Chemical Guys 50/50 Ltd Edition then Chemical Guys Pro...
Minor updates;
30/5/11
Not done much with the car recently, had a nice gentle drive down to Bristol and back last week, slightly disappointing economy though as I only got 34mpg out of the tank, despite driving as though Miss Daisy was in the car.
What was annoying was a couple of rattles...
Following on from the issues with the climate control, and given that it had been almost 12m since the car was last serviced, I decided to change the cabin filter. I have had one knocking around for a while so it was just a case of getting around to it.
I read the guides, though they didn't...
A touch embarrassed at how long it has been since I last updated this!
So, what has happened since Feb?
Well three track events, two at Cadwell and one at Blyton, car performed really well.
Firstly shortly after the first Cadwell event one of my friends reversed into the Clio in the drive...
May be a dumb question, but 2 or 4WD?
Looks very nice BTW, is it much smaller than the ST220?
I used to have a Mk3 2.5 Zetec-S, always wanted a 220. The Mondeos are just so useable, and the hatch makes a great van when it is needed.
Shouldn't need to do any splicing or anything, it is just plug & play, you may need to add in the mute wire if you so desire. There should be no dimming with the lighting.
Mine, I love it. 12k, 12m later and I probably love it more now that I did a year ago. And to think I wasn't even that bothered about it when I bought it...
Anthracite Speedies for road use, APD inlet, ITG panel, cup chassis.
Manage your expectations.
Your pug was turbo'd, so much easier to get more power out of. What you will get with the Clio is probably just a few more horsepower than the 185-190 it is putting out at the moment, and hopefully a smoother curve. You need 99ron 97 won't make any difference.
If you are warping discs then try standard pads with a grooved bell & rotor setup. Part of the problem with uprated pads but standard discs is that you increase the temperature potentially beyond the optimum for the discs. Personally I wouldn't bother with braided hoses or posh brake fluid...
My 197 has done 87k and still feels remarkably strong and well built. True, the interior hasn't worn quite as well as our 2005 75k Honda (CR-V) but for French clutter it has done much better than I had expected. IMO the EP3 is a bit dated, but £7k would nearly get you into a leggy FN2 wouldn't...
Granted mine is a different colour, but I didn't like having anthracite wheels until I stuck red brakes behind them, really sets off the anthracite wheels.
I was looking into this recently, 197 as standard only had front speakers, rears were an option and Cabasse was an option on top of that. You also may not have tweeters. Wiring should be there though, for 6 speakers (2 x tweeter, 2 x door, 2 x rear quarter).
Thanks, it is a Brodit active holder for my Blackberry - http://www.brodit.com/montering.jsp?anr=513132
Mounted on a Brodit dash bracket.
Cheers, I got mine used, but it is standard on a Meg 225/230
Unfortunately the little car gained a small war wound on the rear bumper a week or so ago, nothing major but the bumper is damaged. This prompted me to take the car to the garage to get the rear discs and pads changed, along with red calipers, cup springs and dampers, and track rods. Also gave...
